Thanks for the links. But these links talk about a new custom tool. My requirement is to provide read only access of the App Profile Landing Page to some business users (an access group). These users can see the requirements, specifications but shouldn't be able to modify anything. Is there any access role or other configuration that provides such an ability. I tried creating a new role with no modification allowed for Rule-Application-UseCase but that didn't help. The sections and rules used are final (as expected), so can't be modified. Creating a custom landing page would mean a lot of effort considering the number of rules involved. Hope someone in the community would have faced such a requirement.
With Access Deny, we are getting the similar results as with the access role to object with "no access" to Modify instances. This will throw an error while saving the instance but we need the view only mode where no field is editable. With the role/deny approach, we get the editable fields. Only when you submit, the error is thrown.
Locking the ruleset would mean that no one is available to edit it which is not we want. We want a certain group (say Group A) to able to edit it (like business analysts) but others (say group B, like business stakeholders) shouldn't be able to see in edit mode.
Requirement is not just about editing capabilities. For Group B, the specifications when accessed from the 'Application Profile' landing page, should be in read-only mode (no editable fields apart from comments). Group A should see the specifications as normal editable fields.
Locking the ruleset doesn't help here. Even not allowing checkout ability to users of Group B, doesn't make the fields read-only. I assume only when one submits the specification, they might find that they doesn't have editing access.
We have seen that all the involved rules are final and that's why we wanted to know if there is any way to do it other than re-creating the whole landing page with this feature based on permissions.
