Step by Step process for Upgrade scripts
We are planning to upgrade from 7.3.1 to 8.6.2, our configuration is as below
Application server: Tomcat
Operating System: Linux
DB: Sql Server
In House application not cloud. Application is already running in production. We are planning to go with out of place upgrade.
We need to run the data only upgrade script. Can you please provide step by step process on how & where to run the scripts including the tools setup (Coomand Line / prpcUtils).

@GOWRISHANKAR We know about the upgrade guide but what we need to know is how to run the scripts and where to run the script? is it inside application server with unix scripts or using prpcutils or command tool along with the steps?

Hi @KiranKS,
I believe 7.3.1 environment is already having split schema deployment, If not it is recommended to perform split schema upgrade to 8.6.2.
There are two ways to perform the upgrade
- In Place Upgrade
- Out of Place Upgrade
In Place Upgrade.
Please refer the page numbers between 54 - 57 in the upgrade guide. It is advised to perform the upgrade directly in the machine where DB is deployed/ or in another machine in the network which should have low network latency.
Out of Place Upgrade.
Please refer the page numbers between 57 - 67 in the upgrade guide. It is advised to perform the upgrade directly in the machine where DB is deployed/ or in another machine in the network which should have low network latency.
