Strategic apps in the CLSA 7.3 build
Are CLSA 7.3 aspirants expected to build strategic apps in the build component of the exam? The 7.3 requirements include customer service, decisioning/marketing and robotic certifications/badges. This seems to be a noticeable change in direction to the previous versions of the CLSA which focused more on the platform.
Now I understand that Pega is evolving and different industries have different uses for Pega (hence the existence of strategic apps), however, very few SSA's will have worked in all these industries. If the CLSA exam was a purely academic exercise then it shouldn't be an issue, however there is a build component to it...which suggests we need real-world experience to do well. As an example I work in the government sector in Australia and all federal government clients here just use the platform. I'd literally need to move cities to get Pega experience in any strategic app.
I feel like if I did CLSA 7.1 I'd have a shot, but with 7.3 it would be significantly tougher. I guess we'll see... I'm curious to hear about the profiles of newly anointed 7.3 CLSA's in the coming months.
...Or have I got this all wrong and the build component is still platform focused?
Never assumed for a minute that it wouldn't be challenging. Because Decisioning/Marketing and Customer Service certifications are now required, it's not impossible to think way I did. My concern was possibly being asked to "build an end to end Customer Service / Decisioning / Marketing application" which of course I would have no chance of passing since I have no experience in any of the strategic apps.
