I've been told that there is an OOTB REST Service for deployments that was to be released in one of the 7.2 versions. Did this happen as i cannot find any reference to it in the release notes. I want to do an upgrade at my current client so that i can use it for DevOps if it avaliable.
If you want to exploit OOTB Pega Rest services, you need to Select the "Enable Pega API access for application administrators" option while creating your applicaiton under "Application settings". It will add the PegaRULES:PegaAPI role to the administrators access group. This role enables you to power client and mobile applications using built-in Pega REST services.
Hope your query was about this, kindly notify if it helps.
Yes, the Rest API did make it into 7.2. It is part of the new prpcServiceUtils asset and provide faster deployment. It is a command line utility, just like prpcUtils and you can find prpcServiceUtils .sh and .bat in the /scripts folder of the distribution kit. It's a command-line client that leverages the new service endpoints in the SystemManagement Service Package . Below are the non-default settings which should work:
If you are talking about the archives deployment then the import of the single or a list of archives into the system can be achieved using the Import REST service from Pega-ImportExport, which is used in rest client(prpcServiceUtils.bat/.sh) provided by pega. Reference attachment of the rule is attached.
