Is there a way to create a Word Document using docx4j (third party API) in Pega?

We have tried the following methods.

Created a Word Template rule to set the template for the desired word document.

Created a stand alone Activity to call function pzGenerateDocument to create the document.

The function references the correspondence rule where sections are defined to get property values.

The Activity returns a URL for the generated document.

The document contains the field values for the field codes entered but the Correspondence rule reference or the Property references are not populating.

Has anyone generated any document in Pega without using Silverlight?

Below URLs were referenced to get it this far.

The first URL uses Silverlight and the other two are to extend the Application Document.
