Upgrade scenario : Custom work tables and triggers
We are planning upgrade from version 7.1.9 to pega 7.3.1. we have customized few of OOTB marketing tables and modified existing agent.
1.Please advise what if we apply the schema changes directly during upgrade process? (as there 2 methods to implement 1.apply changes directly 2.manually genrate DDL file to apply the schema changes?)
2.For generating DDL, do we require UDF functions? (This is because we are in oracle 11g version. But in reference guide , i could see UDF supports in oracle 12C version)
3.We have customized the one of the marketing agents which ProcessEventRun. Do we have to do any post upgrade steps for the same?(In reference guide,we could see this step is required only if we are migration from 7.2.2). Kindly advise on this
1. The use of direct vs manual is up to you. Its likely driven by your own processes. Some DBA's want to review and manually apply the DDL changes and their processes dictate that it should be manual. If your organization is comfortable with the product doing it on your behalf, the direct option is a time saver.
2. UDF should not be required.
3. We naturally can't comment on your customization of agents given they are specific to you. If you have applied a customization, you should review and re-baseline your customization against the latest version of the agent as it exists in the version you are upgrading to.
