Verify the version of Studio a deployed package was created in
We are upgrading Studio and Runtime and are testing the software packaging. I have 2 questions.
1. I wanted to verify the version of Studio that a package was created in and deployed to the deployment portal. I thought I had upgraded the package to the new version of Studio/Runtime, but I am able to run it in my old version of Studio.
2. Before I deployed the package to the portal, I wanted to change the version from 1.1 to 2 (to make it clear it was created in a new version of Studio). It allowed me t change in the package, but once it got the portal, it was version 1.2. How can I set the version number to what I want?
1. You need to check the .manifest file for the project in question. You can find this in two places if you deployed locally and to the portal. From the development machine, check the bin\Debug folder under the main project directory. Open the [ProjectName]_Debug.manifest file and you'll see the version the project was built with.
If you're checking a package deployed from the Portal, you need to check the project extraction directory. Default location/shortcut: %localappdata%\OpenSpan\8.0\Projects\
From this folder, find project id folder you are looking for and open the .manifest file from there. You can see all the meta data you need from this file.
2. Not sure on this one. Perhaps source control (if using) locked the properties file from making your version change. Always verify the deployment version in the project deployment window (where you hit Deploy).
