Virtual machine launching issue
When I try to open the downloaded exercise system from Virtual machine it gives me an error "More than 80% of host computer's memory(3.92GB) is assigned to the virtual machine. Not enough memory is left for the host operating system. Please select a smaller amount". Can you please suggest what can be done for this?
Please refer to the Virtual Machine User Guide when downloading and installing the virtual machine on your environment. It lists the minimum requirements. It seems to me that you do not have enough memory to support running this virtual machine on this device. Perhaps adding RAM or try installing on a machine with more RAM will resolve this issue.
Thank you so much, I did update the configuration and now this error is gone, but somehow when the VM starts it gives me URL as http://:9080 and not something like http://192.168.x.xx:9080. so using http://:9080 the browser doesn't launches pega for me. Can you please suggest something for this issue as well.
Typically, this happens because the VM isn't talking to the active network adapter on the host.
IP address are assigned to a MAC address on the host system. Each adapter has its own MAC address, so the IP address winds up assigned to a specific network adapter on your system. As a result, if your host system has multiple adapters (wireless and Ethernet), then the VM needs to point to the adapter that received the IP address.
If multiple adapters are active for the VM, you can click the Configure Adapter button (in the VMWare player), and select (or clear) the checkboxes to use the correct adapter.
Changing to Host-only addresses the issue by effectively not pointing to any adapter, ad the expense of not being able to access anything other than the host system.
You might need to change the adapter from Bridged to Host Only or NAT in order to get a URL. Once you do get a URL. Please wait 4 minutes for the servers to start, then go to a browser and enter that URL and you should be good to go.
