What is the use of "Simulate Data source" In Data pages
In Pega 7 in DATA PAGES under sources we have a checkbox as simulate data source. Can some one explain the use of it .
The below info was found In help ,its clear please explain in detail.
When you check this checkbox for a data source, the system replaces the current data source with a blank row. You can then select an alternative data source to use during development--a Report Definition, a data transform, or a lookup. You cannot select another connector.

This option really just switches between 2 different data source configuraitons, a temporary one intended for development / testing and a real one.
The Simulate Data Source option allows you to disable the primary configuration of the data source and use an alternate temporary data source. It may be the case that during development the data source that you will be using for the data page is not available yet, or not appropriate for use for development and testing. Once you are ready to move from simulated to real data you can uncheck this option to move back to the primary configuration.
