Worst Training Ever
I just had to come and say that this is without a doubt the worst training I have ever tried to complete. The instructions NEVER match up with what is shown in the application. I spend half an hour looking everywhere for the buttons that they claim exist, but they are nowhere to be found.
I hate it so much. How is it this badly designed? It makes me angry just trying to get through a single module that should take 5 minutes and it takes an hour because NOTHING IS LIKE THE INSTRUCTIONS.
It's packed full of unintelligible jargon because they felt this need to over complicate everything. The naming conventions used are awful. The UI design is just so horrible, especially for a company that is trying to sell itself on being UI experts. The training matches how bad the application is to use.
That's all. I hate it. It needs a complete re-design.
Err, sorry for my rant. I was just so frustrated with it. Thanks for replying. This was System Architect Essentials, and I found the same problems with Business Analyst Essentials I think it was called.
If I might suggest a couple of things:
A focus on more practical training. It feels like a lot of reading and very little time in the application.
Where you have bold labels for places on the screen like +Create Menu, also include a screenshot with an indicator of where on the screen the item can be found. Sometimes you have these, but often they are not there and the instructions seem to be referencing an older version of Pega.
Also, the windows do not resize to half screen. So opening the application on one side of the screen and the instructions on the other side doesn't work, because you lose half the application. It would be great if this worked, otherwise it means alt+tab constantly switching from instructions to the application.
Thanks, appreciate your reply.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to give us additional feedback. This is very much appreciated, because it helps us identify the areas we need to fix in order to improve the quality of your learning experience.
I'm in the process of training but just as Seth implied, this is one of the worse training materials I have ever had the privilege of reading/training. You guys definitely did not fix any of the reference information on where certain buttons are as mentioned by Seth. The instructions for exercises are incomplete and requires additional set ups to get through it where it is not mentioned anywhere in the training. Also the fact that you have to change modes from express/design studio to make customization or settings is ridiculous. The fact that you have to change user accounts for different exercises is horrible methodology of training. What is the purpose of being a developer and having to change mode back and forth. The design studio should contain everything the express mode have and as a specialist, you shouldnt ever have to switch to express mode.
Many of the times during the exercises, you have no idea why you are settings things up because there are no explanations(explanations are just do this and this and this....but why????). For this reason, it is very hard to do something similar since you have no clue on the variables changes. I feel this product is a not as good as it is being reviewed, is this really true? How are your customers who use this product not face this exact situation when using your product? How do they become experts?
