Dropdown showing property value instead of display value in readonly section

In a section added a dropdown. The source of the dropdown is a datapage. Property for display text is say "desc" and property for value is "code". In the presentation tab the edit option is auto and the readonly value is "Display text of selected option".

Whenever using this section as an embedded section and setting edit option as readonly, the dropdown is showing code instead of desc.

Can you please help here?
