I want to create Portal which users can access through internet. What is a better design, creating Portal in Pega or create portal using Pega Mashup ?

I want to create Portal which is going to pull some data from APIs not hosted in Pega plus some pega worklist etc.
1) Either I can create portal in Pega and use APIs inside pega.
2) Create regular web application, use for e.g Angular to create UI and get data from APIs, and Mashup to show pega component.
What do you suggest ?

If you want to expose part of the pega application like WL or WB or Dashboards you can choose the Mashup.
But entire Portal can also be exposed to the internet. [ It all depends on the infrastructure configuration, and differ case to case requirement ]

Portal can be made accessible on the internet if the server is accessible over internet. Pega Mashup is the approach you take if you have a public facing website and you want to embed a particular UI in your application but not for exposing the full portal.
