OpenSpan Services application stopped working Issue in Pega Robotics (OpenSpan) Studio
Hi I have Pega Robotics Studio 8.0.1058.0 installed on the machine(With Windows 7 64 bit OS )
when trying to automate some java based swing application, while clicked on start interrogation(for Windows Application by mentioning the executable.bat file as Path & 'javaw.exe' as Target Path & Start Method as 'StartAndWait'),Below errors are occurring saying either
1) Unable to register process with service. Verify that service 'OpenSpan Services' is running". or
2)An Occurred while communicating with the service 'OpenSpan Service' Verify that service is running.
I tried restarting the OpenSpan Services application ,In services.msc it shows the application(OpenSpan Services) status as 'Started',but still the error is occurring in studio. when trying to open the application it says "OpenSpan Services has stopped working".
If anyone faced the same issue, please let me know the resolution steps ,I have raised SR-C8266 & awaiting for the response.

Only Interrogation issue is resolved after upgrading studio from 1058 to 1080,but we encountered more issues while running the bots(OpenSpan Solution) in Studio v 1080 (which were Developed & working fine in 1058) ,also recreation of Fresh Solution /Automation also doesn't solve the issue, New solution works fine in the system it was developed & failed to work on other systems & failing to identify the application controls (javax.swing.JMenuBar, javax.swing.JButton etc.) where it takes long time which is not constant so even after upgrading Studio doesn't solve the issue, I think this product version had more compatibility & performance issues which not even occurred in older versions other than windows Security patches, I think still this issue is not completely resolved & requires some resolution especially for java desktop applications.
we are having similar issues on our system. The solution was developed in January in Studio 8.1058 and on Win7 x64 machine, but after the recent updates in March we are encountering the same error when trying to interrogate SimCorp application. We are in the process of upgrading Studio, hoping that this will solve the issue.
