How do you do data validation with the Business Administrator Portal?
I am building capability for an Admin to create new reference data entries for an application. I have been asked to provide this capability within the Business Administrator Portal.
I have created the data type and delegated access to the Business Administrator Portal. No issues here. The Report definition has also been created no problem.
I can open the Business Administrator Portal and create/update/delete data with no issues.
The problem is data validation. There seems to be no way to apply validate rules for the Business Administrator Portal or the report definition. I have tried applying data validation rules at the level of each property, but this does not flow through. There is also no option to provide validation for a row of the data type in the Data Designer.
I could create a custom section and call validate rules from there but I have been specifically asked to use the Business Administrator Portal. Advice on how best to proceed will be greatly appreciated!
I ran a couple tests on my 7.2.2 system with a delegated data type. I see the pzUpdateRecord has a Page-Validate step so I configured an edit validate rule on my property in the 'Use validate' field and it was invoked.
