Although lower vesion of BIX may work with Pega 7.4, Pega always suggests using the BIX jar that is provided with Pega media files as the proper testings have already been done with this compatibility.
This support is available particularly before Pega 7 versions, but from Pega 7.X onwards you must use the BIX provided with Pega media files. So its good to upgrade your BIX to 7.4 version to avoid compatibility issues and to avail the latest features included.
Thank you for the quick response, we will eventually upgrade the BIX as well, however we are just evaluating the factor of maintaining the current version for a while and then taking up the upgrade of BIX
So, you say that I can continue with my current version 7.1 with PRPC 7.4?
Just want to confirm you that, BIX 7.1 might work with Pega 7.4 and I can't confirm that as the Pega will perform compatibility tests with only 1 or 2 environments below the current version and in your case the version is way far below. So I strongly suggest you upgrade BIX aswell to avoid unwanted issues.
