Question
What makes Pega Data Proprietary? Is it DeflateStreams or another feature?
I have a question troubling me since a long time.
what makes Pega Data Proprietary? is it the compression parameter set in prconfig.xml DeflateStreams
to "true. -or there is some other feature that makes it properietary
Can somebody please answer this urgently?
If we do not compress the data-does it mean 3rd party technologies like Golden Gate and Data Guard would be moving data in a non proprietary zone
what is the percentage of compression that pega achieves as a result of this compression
What are the concerns if we do not compress using Pega feature but do it at the database level?

The below link has information on LOB sizing optimization.
https://pdn.pega.com/documents/db-lob-sizing-v54
Here is a point on compression from the same document.
"Compression, which can reduce BLOB size by a third or more, is enabled by a property setting in the PRPC pegarules.xml file (versions 4.x and earlier) or the prconfig.xml file (versions 5.x and later). Compression is turned on by default. Refer to PRKB-9850, How to Compress the BLOB Values in the PegaRULES Database, for further information."
