Which agent to use in case of non queuing activities to perform?
We have a requirement where an agent will be updating a counter field to 0 in a DB table at the begining of each month. We are using an agent to set the counter. My doubt is, should we use Standard agent to complete this task or Advance agent? Is Standard agent only meant for activities that contains queue management or can be used for simple activities like ours.
In your case it seems Advanced is of more useful as there is no dependency on any work objetc processing and it is to update the counter filed in DB. Then Advanced Mode withset recurring for 1st of every month should satisfy your case.
In general when we go for Standard Agent we pass a work object which should be processed in a agent wide setting based on requestor context form where the mrthod Queue for agent is called.
