The installation guide recommends that the Pega Customer Service Application stack should be as above.
1) What is the necessity of having a Pega Marketing application in the stack?
2) If I have an existing Pega Marketing application with which I am expecting Pega CS to integrate via Container APIs, is it still necessary to have a dummy Pega Marketing application in the stack on which I create my Pega CS application?
This is a logical diagram for reference only. You do not need to install Customer Decision Hub (CDH) or Pega Marketing unless you are licensed and intend to implement this capability. If you do intend to take advantage of this and already have Pega Marketing installed, you can configure Pega Customer Service to connect to your existing instance.
Thanks for the quick response. When you say that one can configure the Pega CS application to connect to the existing Pega Marketing instance, do you mean to make use of the OoTB web services (Two separate installations with different rule bases) or you are recommending that these two applications share the same rule base.
